Judas Priest (2) [Ram it Down]
Cinderella was up first, on tour for Long Cold Winter. I was not a huge Cinderella fan, but I didn't hate them like the Bon Jovis and Poisons of the world. I have to say they fucking ROCKED! Bad Seamstress Blues was amazing live. A fight broke out right next to us, actually started by my afore mentioned friend Efriam slamming into someone that made them slam into someone else. Tom Keifer stopped the show, mid song, and told them to chill out, and stop the fight. After he calmed it down, he just counted "2, 3, 4" and they were right back into the song exactly where they left off. I was really impressed by how he handled a tense situation, kept everybody safe, and picked up where he left off. Pretty cool.
Judas Priest, on tour to support the new album, Ram it Down, which mostly sucked, save for Blood Red Skies, but at least live, the Priest was BACK! Opening with The Hellion/Elecric Eye, Rob did not appear until after the solo section of the first song. Much like on the last tour when they opened with Out in the Cold.
They pulled out songs they hadn't played on the Turbo tour, like Ripper, Sinner, and Beyond the Realms of Death. Rob had a little pony tail working, and seemed to move a little less flamboyantly than the past.
Again, it became increasingly loud, I swear that Judas Priest turns up the volume as the set goes on. Making it deafening by the end. I think it is to keep up interest or, fuck I don't know. But they do, believe me, I have never seen any band do it, or at least that noticeably.
Great show. This would be the last time I had to put up with the lame, Dave Holland on drums.
So, Efriam, after being a total mess during the show (I am not throwing stones here, because I have done myself at least once, specifically in 1999 at Black Label Society, payback is a bitch) was insanely loud and obnoxious after the show. After we ate at Wataburger, which was the only place open in a college town after 9:00 P.M., we got to Rick's, where Efriam puked hard, and then passed out the entire way back to Odessa, and home, which is a 2+ hour drive. Ricky told me to never bring Efriam again. But it's all good, I made that look like a cakewalk in 1999.
...good times...

I got this set list from Sept 03 in Iowa. Pretty much the same, except that they played Bad Seamstress Blues, which is not listed here, and they played the hell out of it.
Here they are headlining a bit later on that same album cycle.
