Concert #022
Sunday, September 1, 1985 - Ector County Coliseum - Odessa, Texas (20)

Motley Crue [Theater of Pain]
Loudness [Thunder in the East, Tour in the West]

Motley Crue [Theater of Pain]
Vince Neil - vocals
Mick Mars - guitar
Nikki Sixx - bass
Tommy Lee - drums, piano

Loudness [Thunder in the East, Tour in the West]
Minoru Niihara - vocals
Akira Takasaki - guitars
Masayoshi Yamashita - bass
Munetaka Higuchi - drums - R.I.P.

Our little drinking/party group, the Metal Inquistion named for the great Piledriver song went to this. This is the night of the drunken Crue chant circle, Lee's photos of us posing like the Crue posters, and a whole lot of forgotten shit.
went w/ Kim Mosley, Ricky Daniel, Dan Beech and Cissy, Lee Friske, Shane Schnedicor, and George Quiros, and everybody.
Loudness was fantastic, way better than Motley Crue! The singer, Minoru Niihara announced their big hit, "Odessa, Wok and Woll Kwazy Night!" through his thick Japanese accent. It was epic. I had two of their LPs, Thunder in the East, and an import Disillusion.
Akira Takasaki totally delivered the goods. He was really getting hyped in guitar circles and he deserved it.
Bought a Loudness shirt. I think I sent Kim to get a Motley Crue shirt, and she got 2 smalls. Lucky her, I guess she got two shirts.

Motley Crue came out, and stunk it up immediately, as the vocals were out on the first song.
Mick Mars whipped out the third worst solo I have ever paid money to see.
They are SO OVERHYPED. Vince Neil had just got probation and was able to tour a month or so prior to this concert.

R.I.P.  November 30, 2008, drummer Munetaka Higuchi - Loudness - Liver cancer
