Concert #007
February 22, 1983 - Ector County Coliseum - Odessa, Texas (6)

Sammy Hagar [Three Lock Box]
Night Ranger [Dawn Patrol]

Bought a Sammy Hagar shirt, I think it had Hagar Kicks Ass on it with an outline of Texas, or it may have been the map of America guitar shirt.
He played a great set back then. He always played This Planet's on Fire, Plain Jane, Heavy Metal, and Trans Am.
This is back when Sammy OWNED little cities like mine in Texas. He even had shirts made just for Texas, and probably everywhere else too, but I never saw any other shirts with other states.
According to Setlist.fm Night Ranger opened for Sammy, but, I don't remember much about them. I think I remember that Brad and Jeff were pretty rad, but that is about it.

  1. I was at this too! I saw it in Corpus Christi TX and Night Ranger opened. Sammy was amazing and I was hooked and a fan for life (except the Van Halen years). I also saw Sammy co-headline Texxas Jam later that year and he was even more amazing. I've seen Sammy about 10 times. I listened to the VOA album my entire senior year in high school. You can find the same show from St Louis the was broadcast on MTV of the internet.

    1. Thanks Eric, I did check out that concert. I totally agree about the VH thing. I wish he would go back to playing a few songs like This Planet's on Fire, and Trans Am.
